Mosaic Grid for 10 mm Mosaic Tiles

This reusable mosaic grid is designed for 10 × 10 mm, or 1 × 1 cm, mosaic tiles and makes it easier to build straight, even and repeating mosaic patterns. The sturdy plastic grid keeps the tiles aligned and evenly spaced while you arrange your design.

Once the pattern is complete, lift it from the grid as one piece using contact film or mosaic transfer tape. The finished pattern can then be transferred onto a surface where the adhesive has already been applied. The grid does not remain in the finished mosaic and can be reused for new projects.

Compatible 10 mm Mosaic Tiles

The grid is designed for evenly sized 10 × 10 mm glass mosaic tiles. It is particularly suitable for tiles from the following product ranges:

Different colours, finishes and 10 mm product ranges can be combined in the same design, provided that the tile dimensions fit the grid. The grid is ideal for creating geometric patterns, borders, symbols, letters and pixel-style mosaic designs.

How to Use the Mosaic Grid

1. Place the 10 × 10 mm mosaic tiles into the grid and build your chosen pattern.
2. Check the tile order, alignment and colour placement before transferring the design.
3. Apply contact film or mosaic transfer tape over the completed pattern and press it firmly onto every tile.
4. Lift the pattern from the grid as one complete sheet using the film or transfer tape.
5. Spread adhesive onto the final surface and carefully press the mosaic pattern into place.
6. Check the tile positions and allow the adhesive to cure according to its instructions.
7. Remove the contact film or transfer tape and finish the mosaic by grouting.

Tips for a Successful Mosaic Pattern

Plan the design before applying the transfer film and make sure that all tiles sit securely in the grid. A complete 29 × 29 pattern requires 841 mosaic tiles, while smaller designs can be built using only part of the grid.

The grid is a layout tool and not a permanent mounting base. Do not apply adhesive directly to the plastic grid. Always transfer the completed pattern onto a separate surface using contact film or mosaic transfer tape.
